Watermark Photos Online: Tiled Text Marks
Enforcing copyright after theft is expensive, so watermark early. Learn tiled marks and poster-style text layouts, plus density, opacity and archiving tips.
Why watermarks still matter
Even with a copyright notice, proving ownership after an image is stolen takes real effort. A watermark does not make theft impossible; it raises the cost, preserves attribution evidence and can even turn theft into traffic.
Method 1: Tiled anti-theft watermark
Best for product shots, design drafts and sample photos:
- Open the image watermark tool and upload the image
- Enter the brand name or contact as watermark text
- Tilt it 30-45 degrees and tile across the image at 10-20% opacity
- Adjust density so the subject stays readable but the mark cannot be cropped out
Density rule: every possible crop should contain at least one watermark, while marks avoid faces and key product details.
Method 2: Text poster style
Best for Xiaohongshu covers, event notices and quote images, using the image text tool:
- Keep the headline under two lines, large and short
- Create strong weight contrast with body text; use at most three colors
- Fix the brand name in one corner consistently across the series
- Keep key text inside the safe area away from platform UI
Watermarking is not copyright registration
A watermark does not replace copyright registration and original-file retention. Keep clean high-resolution masters, camera settings and work-in-progress files; send tiled-watermark samples to clients and deliver clean images only after the deal closes.
Export and archive
Export a JPG for publishing. Multi-image materials for long-term records can be combined into a watermarked sample PDF with the image to PDF tool, using consistent dates and version numbers for easy retrieval and evidence.
