Transparent PNG Logo: AI Cutout & Export
Turning a white-box logo into a transparent PNG is the first step for slides, sites and watermarks. Follow the AI cutout and edge-cleanup workflow.
Why you need a transparent logo
A white-background logo placed on a dark slide, colored poster or website navigation bar shows an ugly white rectangle. A transparent PNG sits on any background and is the standard brand asset format.
PNG vs JPG
JPG does not support transparency; empty areas are filled with white or artifacts. PNG supports an alpha channel with semi-transparent pixels, so edges stay smooth. Save logos, icons and stamps as PNG; use JPG only for photos. Learn more in the format selection guide.
Workflow
Step 1: Automatic AI cutout
Open the AI background remover and upload the logo. Even on complex backgrounds it recognizes the subject and returns a transparent cutout.
Step 2: Refine the edges
Zoom into letter counters, outlines and gradients:
- Remove leftover background patches with inpainting in the AI image editor
- Restore strokes removed by mistake with the same inpainting workflow
- If a white halo remains, retrim slightly inside the edge
Step 3: Export transparent PNG
Export as PNG, never JPG, or transparency is lost. Keep one highest-resolution master and generate every other size from it.
Multi-size and favicon export
Websites need 16, 32, 48, 180 and 512 pixel icons. Generate multi-size favicons from the transparent PNG with the image to ICO converter, then crop social avatars and watermarks as needed.
FAQ
Do I still need PNG if I have SVG? Prefer SVG on the web where possible, but Office documents, older systems and print still need raster versions; export them with the SVG to image tool.
Why do shadows look dark? Semi-transparent shadows are easy to misclassify; preview the result on both dark and light backgrounds before publishing.
